Is it front - back - wing repeater??

If it's just the single unit, then it almost certainly is the wiring.
For the front, remove cover in inner wing, locate wiring from indicator and trace back to first connector. Clean up pins, good spray with WD40 or equivalent, re-connect and check.

Repeat similar process on rear indicator and wing mounted repeater.

If above still does not solve problem, then its a case of checking with multi-meter, I'm afraid.

All of the bulbs are working ok when the hazards are on. It just nothing when the left indicator is used. Is it a difficult job to get to the micro switches on the end of the indicator stalk?

^^Ah, OK! understand now.

The 'clicking' you hear when hazards are on is the flasher relay.

I'd say to remove cowls on steering wheel binnacle to determine if the contacts are being made when you use the indicator stalk (i.e. on a push down). IIRC, the complete switch assembly - indicators/main beam and headlight flash - has a multi-plug to the rear and is fixed to the steering column with 2 off machine screws...So it shouldn't be a hard job to remove and get it in the workshop and/or replace. Can't see it being anything other than something basic if the LH indicators were working last time you used the car?

My experience is only with a Mk.1 Tuscan mind.

I had the same trouble a while back, it was a solder connection on the indicator switch. After removing the cowl, only a couple of minutes work with the soldering iron smile

Well that's the " baboons ass" off and there is a green wire hanging out of the multiplug for the left hand indicator!
I can't see how to pull the pins out of the plug and in the process I've now broken another of these very tiny wires.
Aaaarrrrggg electrics
