Anyone from Scotland driving down to the Silverstone Classic in July? I've booked my tickets and accommodation and am taking my 3.2 down.

We should be going down, hopefully with the GTROC (so the car will be on the club stand) since its the 25th anniversary for the R32 GT-R smile

I'll be heading down in my 289. It is our club's AGM there on the Saturday.

nice one, we'll look out for you. I'll be parked up in the Porsche Club GB area.

Driving down on Friday morning and back up on Sunday night, hopefully it will be a dry weekend as I don't fancy driving that distance with the hood up. Will be parked on The 289 Register site.

Where are you heading from, my son and I are leaving from near Montrose, North East Scotland on Friday morning.

This is my 3.2............

1988 3.2 litre 911 Carrera. Maybe see you en-route, we're stopping over at my Mum's (Cheshire) on Friday night then off early to Silverstone sharp on Saturday morning.

I see you are an insurance broker? Do you know any insurance company that's good with young additional drivers with an IN10?

It's Commercial insurance I deal with.

You'll obviously struggle with that on a young driver and a Porsche. Assuming you've tried the usual footman james, rh classics etc? Have they said no?

Good God man, it's not on the Porsche, NOBODY even gets to think about driving that other than me!! It's for one of my other cars, a Jaguar 'X' Type 2.0 DSE

I see.

Have you tried the confused.com etc already? Just ridiculous? They normally have the leftfield insurers on there too for people with previous.

Haven't dealt with car insurance for a good few years other than my own.

Yes, I've tried all of the compare sites, best I can get is £1092.

This is getting a bit off topic now (my fault) Thanks for the advice though.

I'll be heading off early Friday morning from the Carse of Gowrie, but not sure of my plans yet. I would love to go down the A68 from Edinburgh but might be meeting up with another 289 owner who lives in the west. If so it could be a boring A74/M6, A5.
