My dog stinks!

Took the dogs to the beach on Sunday, they always eat whatever they find, pretty much given up trying to stop them now.

They come into the office with me every day, on Monday one of them stank really bad! Farting, the whole office stinks which is kind of embarrassing when clients come in.

Well, it's now Wednesday & the stink hasn't diminished. Their poops aren't normal but not what I would class as worrying, I have seen far worse.

Today we have switched them both onto boiled rice rather than their normal food, is there anything else we can do short of taking them to the Vet? Do they need to see the Vet, they both seem happy enough?

One is an 11yr old working Cocker, the other is a 6yr old Westie if it helps, pretty sure it's the Cocker making the smell though.

Put them on a raw diet. This pretty much reduces wind (well, unless they have an allergy like mine to lamb) to zero and the poos also no longer smell and are tiny.

I wouldn't take them back to that beach either, might be they swallowed something from the sea..

Switching their diet is a bit extreme, one or both of them has eaten something raw which is what's causing the problem! We will keep them on boiled rice for a couple of days then ease them back onto their normal food, if the smell hasn't subsided then off to the Vet they go.

Some probiotics might help things get back into balance sooner. Can get them over the counter at vets or some big pet shops. Brands include Pro-Kolin, Canikur or Pro-Bind.

Well the rice seems to have done the trick (or maybe it's just the passing of a few days?), either way the office smells a whole lot fresher now
