I aim to be taking part in the first Uk Power Tour.
This event is open to all and will include a great variation of cars from standard classics running 20 second 1/4s to monster V8 street legal drag racers running 7’s!
There are a few TVRs entered already maybe some more of you will want to take part. Check it out here http://www.v8uk.co.uk/uk-power-tour/
The weekend consists of 3 days drag racing and driving the same car to and from the strips.
Saturday is on the South coast at Rye, then onto Shakey that night for racing on Sunday, and finally up to York for the Monday.

So who would be up for a TVR meet up at Shakey?
Its RWYB all weekend so why not come along early on the Saturday and join in the fun on track while its relatively quiet.
I will be arriving later and camping overnight before racing on Sunday. So BBQ and beers will be the plan.

What a good idea Derek wink

I'll be up for the Saturday at least.

Hopefully set a 12.4 or thereabouts!

Now, can I be persuaded to stay in a tent................

Just to get the dates correct, Saturday the 24th of May, Sunday the 25th and Monday the 26th.

So the proposal is generally for the quieter Saturday at Shakey for a get together with possible "night over"?

Derek, which flavour of gearbox do you run on the Chimaera? Hope you don't mind me asking.

T5 that was rebuilt by John Reid with a few improvements and an 8000 mile gearset from a Sagaris that was in for a close ratio set.

Ive had it confirmed that despite the weekend being 'Garys Picnic' all cars are welcome on the strip for RWYB.
So hopefully i will arrive to see a good turnout of TVRs brandishing PB timing slips wink

I fancy a bit of camping and beers, then try the lightweight flywheel/ clutch combo, untested on the strip! Sub 10.5 would be nice! smile
