Rejecting a used car

A question for PH.....

Recently purchased a vehicle from a main dealer (11 months old).

Car is now booked in for its 3rd attempt to fix faults, including one that should have been addressed before delivery.

Am I right in thinking that allowing the dealer 3 attempts to rectify the situation is "reasonable" and it wouldn't be wrong of me to reject the car if not fixed this time ?

One stated case says that returning a car after 7 months was deemed too long to reject.

Each case on its own merits though i'm sure...

Sorry - I should have clarified - I bought the car 3 weeks ago, its been back to them twice already. The car itself is 11 months old, well 12 now. More time in their service bays than in my possession...

If you want to reject it then speak to them and say you think you should give them the car back - do you want another car from them or money back?

See how reasonable they are going to be.

The rejection needs to be for something that stops the car being of merchantable quality, so if it is "insignificant" you will need to rely on the good will of the dealer.
