Evening, need some help with a very common problem:

I have a 2006 DB9 and I've just had a new set of wheels fitted too (photo's will be posted at the weekend when cleaned as they look very in character but modern), but one of the TPMS sensors is faulty and as such the wheel was fitted with a standard valve and so the error messages are showing on the dashboard.

I have pushed the 'read' button to clear it, but there is still the warning on the console - is their a fuse that can be pulled to clear it?

I'll get a new sensor fitted next week as its the earliest I can get to the dealership, but its annoying me.

Help and guidance gratefully received.

Many thanks

Nope, as power failure to the unit lights the warning, so fuse removal would not help. The warning come on unless actively extinguished by the TPMS unit.

I have a 2006 56 V8V with the 'old' SmaTire TPMS and just unplugging the 'brain' under the dash on the passenger side disables the system; there are then no dashboard warning lights or messages.
I like the idea of TPMS but with the sender units at the end of their service life and replacements at £125 each, I can live without it..

I would like to do the same thing. What plug did you pull? I disconnected the 3 wires as per previous instructions on here, but no go the message was showing constantly. Would welcome some assistance. Regards Mick.

If your car has the same SmarTire TPMS as mine there will be a small black box (fag packet size) under the 'glovebox' with four lights; it has a feed, just unplug the connector.

Its not in the boot. Its under the passenger side dash, below and behind the glovebox.

Bismarck, many thanks. "I pulled the plug" so to speak and all is as you say. On switching on the ignition the tyre symbol lights along with all the others, it goes through the testing phase and goes out with the others. I noticed this plug before but I just considered it could not be that easy, surely somebody on here would have done this before? Anyway, many thanks I can now get my 19" twenty spoke wheels and new tyres fitted. Anybody interested in my 10 spoke 18" standard wheels with good B/stone tyres?

Mick996r - the tyres may have plenty of tread on them - but what are the manufacture years - each tyre has a number on one side wall - something like 1810 ....... 18 = week number and 10 = the year.

Guess the very earliest TPMS is that way, but it wasn't on my 2009. Pulling the plug had no effect on the dash lights. Had to modify the connections to ground the wires going to the dash to turn them off. And this is the old Smart Tire TPMS. Many on here have tried the disconnect and not been successful, so there must be a changeover point somewhere between 06 and 09.

mick996r - glad that worked. I won't take the credit; the problem is mine but the solution came from BR.
DB9VolanteDriver - The thread is clearly about 2006/2007 cars, you drive a MY 2009...
I think it could be helpful to know if Sunray3006's 2006 DB9 responds the same way as my car?

One rear tyre has 09 the other 3 off are 10. All tyres show about 5 mm on my tread depth tool.
