Evening, im sure i probably have done this wrong. I have been on pistonheads for many years but have only just registered. I would like some advice please.
My friend and I have bought a MK1 MR2 for use as a track car and after a bit of fettling have got it close to the point where we are looking at booking a track day. The question is it has a bit of rust behind the rear wheels right at the bottong of the rear wing, where mud collected on the mud guards. what checks do they do before a trackday and would this pass them?

thanks in advance

as long as nothing is hanging off or loose i.e. dangerous to other people then cosmetic niceties are not relevant biggrin

They check the noise levels and that's about it! As long as it doesn't fall to pieces like a comedy clown car, (or, more crucially, leak any fluids) you are good to go.

I have tracked both my Mk1's with a good geo setup and refreshed suspension they are great fun and eminently slideable in the wet!

Hope your brakes and the cooling system are fine (very likely needing attention unless already done). They are great fun cars - so much more fluid to drive on the limit than the Elise mk1 for instance.
