One of my colleagues was telling me all about chem trails this morning. He tells me that "they" spray "chemicals" from planes to control the weather and "they" don't want the people to know about it.
So some questions for the PH flying gods.
What chemicals are you spraying?
Where do you store them on the plane?
Do you have to pass a test like a farm sprayer operator does?
Do all planes apply these chemicals?
Do you have different application rates for different routes and weather conditions?
Who pays for the chemicals and who supplies them? We get ours from Agrovista.

Look at how many people work in the civilian aviation industry just on this site alone (the missing 777 thread is proof of this.) and therefore how many people have access to planes worldwide on a daily basis.
Think how difficult it would be to keep all of those people quiet.

ks.suspect he's read something about cloud seeding ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloud_seeding ) seen contrails , and added 1+1 together to make 58,000,000.
We do it on behalf of the CIA, MI6, Mossad and the Bilderberg group to send secret encoded smoke messages to embedded agents.

There was a report from meterologists in the US that after 9/11 and during the flight ban across the US, the sky was unusually clear of cloud.
I remember this being attributed to the planes not flying and seeding the sky to create clouds by their normal vapour trails. And that it was not not necessarily just the high pressure weather system at the time keeping the clouds away (NYC had very clear skies on the day of 9/11 day as you might remember).
I can't imagine that the OP's friend's theory is correct, but there's a connection to 9/11 so perfect for the budding conspiracy hunter.

When I lived in Milton Keynes I did notice that you very rarely saw a nice blue sky. When all the flights were grounded when that volcanic ash was causing issues all of a sudden we had blue sky's for a week, until the planes could fly again.
Nothing to do with chemicals, but it seems pretty undeniable that the vapour trails do have an effect .

Don't move to Milton Keynes then, as the only times you'll see the sun are when all the planes are grounded. Undeniably.....
It is certainly undeniable that you have not understood what I actually wrote.
The subject came up on PH at the time, and I posted pics of the sky on the first morning that planes started flying. Just massive white streaks breaking up the blue sky. By the next day the sky overhead was back to its normal milky appearance.
I live up in Scotland now, not under a high level flight path and guess what, I now see blue sky's again (once in a while!)
