1982 Mk1 Golf Gti, 250bhp 1.8t 20v
Discussion
Just signed up to the forum, thought this would be the best way to introduce myself
I'm Steve, 22 from Portsmouth, and work for a high end car audio company, do a lot of competition (EMMA) builds, also do airride, most aspects of trimming etc. can't say which company for obvious advertising reasons, just wanted to tell you a little about myself
This is my '82 golf, formally a Gti, now housing a 250bhp 20v turbo. KW suspension, H+R anti roll bars etc too.

And a photo from when I borrowed some custom one-off M1 split rims off a friend (don't worry, wasn't driven at this height haha)

Looking forward to getting involved in the forum

I don't love the borrowed wheels, but the car looks tidy.
I used to have a G60-Turbo mk1 - great fun. http://dorkish.com/albums/Cars/The%20Old%20Cars/Mk...

Wow overwhelmed with the comments
thank you all 👍
The M1 splits are definitely an acquired taste, but I personally love them, will hopefully buy them off him one day.
With regards to torque steer, there's a lot 😄😄 haha. Certainly fun though.
It's currently off the road as the cambelt snapped, but have had the head rebuilt and hopefully it will be back to chasing Porsches again soon

Love it, I had one of the first 20vts in a mk1 golf caddy using original vag mounts grafted on to the chassis legs and running the vag closed loop ecu....similar power to yours and it was quick as my 911 but felt faster. I was on Ko3s revo mapped.
I am near you and will need a trimmer for my 205 t16 pug when I get it back from the engine work, can you pm me some details of either private work or work work do I can discuss what I am looking for please.
I think the M1 wheels look brilliant, you should get image to make ome sets up, you could sell a load.
