Wan tyre as a spare

I am in the midst of making a few changes to a recently acquired mint MGF.

I have added 16 Trophy wheels which came with an odd assortment of tyres including a brand new tyre caloed a Wan.
First job was to put a set of new Toyos on the car. The tyre fitter bloke left me the Wan so I could use it as a spare as it is non directional.

I've just bought a 16 inch Trophy wheel for use as a spare. Will a Wan be good enough as a spare?

If not, any thoughts about a cheap non directional spare?

It's an aesthetic thing, but at 13 years old, the car is so mint that I want something new in the front bay rather than something used.

it will be fine to get you to a tyre shop to get the flat repaired

Never heard of them but it has to be better than a space saver! If you want a newer look, give it a wash next time you are cleaning the car and apply some tyre black to it - instant good as new looking spare

It's a brand new tyre. I bought the wheels with tyres of an online used parts place. The guy rang me to tell me one of the tyres was dangerous he noticed a bulge or something, so he put this one on FOC

I am returning the wheels and will be getting the spare pained orange, so this tyre would only be used if I got a flat. A Wan will be OK as a spare then?

It's just you read so many horror stories.
