I need to buy a tent for Le Mans, has anyone got any recommendations as to what to buy based on what will fit in the car.

I was thinking something that would sit on the parcel shelf.

being a cheapskate i bought one of those 10 second pop-up tents from decathlon which lays flat but has a diameter of about 1m. i managed to get that stuffed behind the drivers seat to the silverstone classic. It was a right b**tard to get back in the bag and get home though. In hindsight i should have spent slightly more and gone for a more tubular packed option. Not sure that helps much, but given i'm off to le mans classic this year i need to start thinking about tents as well !

For motorbike tours I have a Vango Banshee 200, I'd recommend the 300 for a Noble as it's not much bigger packed up but a fair bit bigger when it's up.

ETA: Here's the packed size, it's in the blue bag!

Yesterday I was considering the same thing in anticipation of CPOP.
I resolved to drive over to Go Outdoors and borrow various packs to see what fits best in the car. Either behind the seats or on the parcel shelf (prefer not the latter, as that's where I have to stow helmets if I every double up a trip with a track day).
The Banshee looks a little small to me. Can you sit upright inside?

Yes to both the 200 and 300, the 200 is a little tight to get changed in but I've managed. The 300 is pretty roomy though, you can sit up comfortably.

We usually buy from French supermarket and leave them behind! Travel light :-)

+1 In the supermarket there only 15 euros for a 2 man dome tent
