147 dash lights/manuals/independents

Question on behalf of a friend - the lights that used to light up the switches on the heater controls on her 147 don't anymore... bulb gone somewhere? how does one get at it?

or: Is the Haynes manual for this car any good on stuff like that?

or: Recommend a cheap but competent alfa specialist somewhere around Epsom?
