996 turbo damaged at spa today

as per the title, some poor bugger went off at high speed and done this today. a couple of our customers said it looks bad in the flesh. anyone know the owner?

Was a uk owner apparently from the nine excellence stable. What a shame, a lot of real fast parts at spa that are unforgiving if you make a mistake

I hope the driver is ok and not hurt... I also hope he has insurance for that!

Yes fortunately he is okay and walked away. Lost the car through Blanchimont at high speed. Car a write off and thankfully was insured.

Not Arena Red, I thought the same, but owner said it wasn't. Very rare colour ( even rarer now ). GoPro footage will be interesting.
Apart from this, was an incident free day. Great days at the Ring & Spa. What a contrast in weather compared to last year.

Is the other side damaged as it only looks like front end damage in the pic, nothing too heavy.

???? the fact that the door isn't in the aperture, and the a-pillar shape is wrong is a bit of a giveaway.

It's a good 130-140 flat through the section where he lost it. He had massive oversteer and was lucky to hit the tyres head on where he benefited from the front crumpal zones. Went right under the tyres and halfway through the barrier - feared the worst at first as looked very nasty, enough so for them to send all the emergency vehicles the wrong way round the circuit...

That looks like PHer Davek_964's car...not many in that colour, glad it's only metal and plastic and driver is ok,.

A friend has a turbo in that colour, it's nice, but it isn't him as he is sat on a beach.

Lucky chap, isn't that pretty much the same accident that killed Sean Edwards died, headlong into the barrier and under the tyres.

I can't see the passenger side door, so how can you tell it's not there? Driver's side a-pillar looks fine too and even if it isn't, nothing a jig can't sort out.

Obviously no idea what's on the other side but that car is 100% repairable, technically.
Cost of spares will preclude that however, unless one can acquire used parts relatively cheaply. The front headlights alone are over 2k!

Worth a lot more as spares, I suspect the engine alone could bring up to 8k, not far north of a 996 engine rebuild.
