If you are going to the Le Mans 24 hour race this year in your Porsche, then why not go to the Classic British Welcome on the Friday before the race.

The theme this year is PORSCHE and there are exhibitions, cinema and live music .. . ALL FREE! Plus bars and restaurants of course . .. parking is also FREE.
The Classic British Welcome is a FREE Classic and sports car festival at Saint Saturnin on the North edge of Le Mans (15 mins from the circuit) with over 1,000 cars on show.

It's a perfect start to a fantastic weekend and you'll have time for call into the PH Sunday Service meet in the afternoon next to the circuit as well!

Thanks to PH Admin for the mention. CBW

I enjoyed the days when the gendarmes were far more chilled out and France was just a blur. When you did not have to run a gauntlet of english wan**rs with super soakers full of piss or beer. Not for me anymore.

I have to agree the whole event has been spoilt by the English disease, we are doing the Classic much more enjoyable now!

Most definitely! Best car event in Europe that I've been to.

^^^Yep, that has a bit to do with why we haven't really bothered going back. I would like to watch a factory Porsche effort though and you always cone away with good memories.

Classic for us when we do get round to it. The normal 24hours is like a football match. Not just the Brits though, the Danes are crazy and quite annoying, stopping cars and telling them to do burnouts, even if it's just some poor guy with his family trying to find his campsite!

Always a good road trip though with some nice stops on the way. Hon Fleur is a pretty little place.

Agreed I just love watching the variation in cars, especially the big old Bentleys applying more steering lock to keep the car straight than a modern racer uses to negotiate a hairpin lol!!

Usually better weather to!

This year will be my 23rd. Of course I'm taking the Porsche, it's annual pilgrimage.

I do tend to keep it parked on Friday afternoon though....

Yep - going to the 24hrs (and CBW) and the Classic again this year.

CBW is nowhere near the 'Mad Friday' antics of the Epsilon Semi-Morons that frequent the roads around the circuit. It is a far more civilised affair frequented by true car enthusiasts.

Yep, my first time this year.

I will be chasing my pal's 993 down there in the 997.

Anyone travelling from Poole on Thursday morning ferry and fancying a convoy, let me know.
