Feeding a singleton, London

I plan to meet some people tomorrow evening around the Old Street area, but may well be free by 8.30 ish. MrsC is not able to come with me. Once I leave Old St, my route home will be via Victoria.

I may well be peckish by then, so, in order to avoid the dubious temptations of the West Cornwall Pasty Company, where might a lone gentleman choose to dine in the metropolis, preferably without interrupting my journey between Old St and Vict?

I would say meat mission since you're gonna be in the area, although you might look like a billy all on your own. To be fair its worth it for the food anyway so may as well fk what anyone else thinks and go for it.

I'll give one of them a try - just need somewhere I don't have to book so the bar food idea sounds good.

There's a food court above Victoria Station with the usual chains.

The train departures are also shown, so if you've got 5 mins then the Pasty company sell another one, if you've got a bit more time there's a choice upstairs

I did put my head round the door here but the overwhelming stench of stale piss in the bar area, coupled with every meathead in the place gawping at me like I'd just offered the entire bar out, limited my visit to a fraction over 10 seconds.

I didn't have time to try any of the more salubrious joints at the eastern end of my journey as I was later than expected, so I had to make do with a Camden sandwich after all that! Cheers anyway, some thoughts for next time.
