FFS slight bit of mist on the A90 this morning driving from Portlethen to Aberdeen, daylight and visibility down to about 2 miles, and on go the bloody rear fogs, even before we joined the dual carriageway, still on driving up Anderson Drive.
If any culprits should be reading this, please note I don't want to be behind a bloody red searchlight.
If you really think you need fog lights, think about this. If you can drive down the A90 at 70, does that not sort of say, oh dear visibility is so good so I don't need my fog lights on, and in town really............

Fixed that for you.I commute Lancs <-> Leeds M62 daily and I stick to my personal rule of never going into the right-most lane unless it's to pass something like a truck and if I can make the pass in a single sweep without the risk of having to slam on.

A good proportion of people drive around all year with front fogs on. Except of course when its foggy, suddenly everyone goes into stealth mode.
DRLs seem to be making it worse as well, i.e. they don't engage brain so although they can be seen from the front thanks to the automatic lights, no lights on at the back.
To be totally ream you have to be piloting a white RRS, with no lights on, at warp factor t
t in a pea-souper.

Why is it more cars don't automatically switch them off when you turn off the ignition? If I stop my car while the rear demister is on, it'll be off when I restart, do the same with fog lights would make the world a far better place.Happens rarely hereabouts.

Then again, bearing in mind a lot of new cars don't have indicators fitted, maybe they don't even have handbrakes

I'm pretty sure my Volvo did this - same with full beam. You stop the car and when you re-start you don't blind other road users before you notice...there's some clever touches on those Swedish cars I tells thee...LordGrover said:

You're assuming they give a st about others, I try every journey not to have impeded anyone but for some people they seem to want to not be impeded by anyone on their journey. If everyone stuck to the first example then we would all manage nicely.LordGrover said:

I always have a moan about this because it does dazzle me to the point of causing my eyes to hurt but I'm always shouted down by the automatic-gearbox foot-on-brake brigade. holes.Driving in heavy fog at night on the M5 a while ago I would turn my foglight off as I passed lorries and then flip it back on when I was a safe distance in front. No point giving them the fogs when they know I'm there!
Another one I find odd is people who have their wipers going full tilt in the rain...but see no need for headlights so others can make them out in the gloom.

I do this, then again my handbrake is only acting on one wheel atm.
