Should mobile camera locations be published?

I found a list of cameras sites under the Thames Valley Saferoads website. Can any of our BIB confirm if the police are not supposed to deviate from the mobile camera sites listed or if other regions should publish their 'regular' mobile camera locations? Just curious.. Ta

they make the rules up as they go along, then say 15% of sites can be made up too

They should run the roads covered on the radio traffic reports - not the exact position, just the road monitored. That way, everyone slows down for the entire length.

All of the safety camera partnerships publish where they are going to be enforcing. I think that all have them on their websites now.
It is a good idea that they only put the road methinks as to put exactly where they are would mean that the effect is reduced as Parrot of Doom suggested above.

Unfortunatley when the road in question is the Frigging M6 (ALL of it within Cumbria's cash partnerships control) it isn't particularly useful.

I'm trying to get a certain Partnership to tell me where they last deployed their mobile scamera at each of their sites, and they are refusing to tell me. Its not as if this is top secret information.

Another few weeks & the freedom of information comes in & they can't refuse. Big problems for them if they don't comply.

Does this suggest a belief that "speed cameras save lives"?

Anyone looking at the stats know they most certainly don't.

The "result" would more likely be a load of drivers looking into hedges and tiny side roads for the aforementioned camera, and then stoving into the back of someone who has stopped to turn right.

Interestingly they quote "very few areas of exemption"
in the FoI Act, but that the exact location of mobile scamera will be one. However "These exemptions are not always 'absolute' and many require that a Public Interest Test is applied.". In the mean time they still will not tell me pre FoI.
