Filling up.

On my way to work this morning I stopped by my usual liquid tax station and brimmed it.
I don't usually fill it all the way to the top, £40 is normal for a weeks commute.

Which got me thinking, how much do you lot usually tip in?

a set amount?

enough for the journey you are about to take?

fill 'er up?

Yes I'm bored on my lunch break.

Always drive it around with the light on for a couple of days and then brim it. Mainly because the whole job is tedious but also because I geek my fuel into an app that tells me my fuel consumption (28.56 mpg on the MG, considerably less on the Mazda).

I always fill up as you waste fuel going to and from the fuel station, i avg £65 a week

My car gets "brimmed" with LPG every time, and petrol £12 once a month or so.

Wifes car gets £10 petrol when the fumes are just about to run out or if she is going further £20. It has never and will probably never be filled.

Motorhome gets a full tank of diesel everytime it is filled.

Generally speaking £99 joys of pay at pump. Minimizes visits to petrol stations which can only be a good thing.

Fill 'er up unless it's at the end of the month. Yes, things really do get that tight occasionally!

Do 30k+ per year, so no point in anything but brimming it. Even if I did less miles I'd still brim it though, if it's your car and you're not brasic then I can't understand why you'd do anything but.

Always brim the tank. Usually I intend to fill up at the halfway marker, but usually I only fill up when my warning light of impending doom lights up!

This. You spend the same money overall but filling right up just means less visits to the petrol station. I can think of better things to do with my time than popping back and forward to get fuel when I don't need to.

Depends really, I usually drive until the light comes on and then brim it. However if I am struggling a bit financially and it is near the end of the month I will chuck 20 in. As a student a £60 tank can be quite a hit!

My Dad always drives down to half a tank and then brims it as he does a lot of rural driving and there isn't always diesel available where he goes, and it can cost a bloody fortune. I used to think this was rubbish, but he as nearly been caught out on more than one occasion.
