Whichever model fits your budget.

Buy a smart Mark 4 mid-range model in silver with a private plate, and most people simply won't know much about its age. It will fit in everywhere.

A Defender, a classic Mini or an older Volvo 70 as mentioned - I'd agree with all of those but say the Golf personally, from the lowliest ecobox to the top of the range GTI and R, you can't quibble at a Golf**

• Unless it's a MK5 with black plastic bumpers, even some of the GTI's don't have body coloured panels and it just looks st.
