My 2011 V12 Vantage has the multi-position sports seats. They are black leather/alcantara, and are in mint condition. Due to a lower back problem, I find the carbon buckets more comfortable.

Anyone out there up for a swop of seats?

lightweight seats as you know has no side airbags, and also have a switch on the dash ends on either side to move the seats up and forward for access to rear

I wonder how easy a swap it is ..

apparently, the cost quoted by Q to swap from sports seats to lightweight is £15000!!!

Hi Steve

I have exactly the same problem in my V8 the standard seats offer only poor support and far to much adjustment, coupled with no memory on my car then it is a nightmare!!!

Having looked into the AM lightweight seats at an eye watering £8K a pair then I have had to bully a friend who owns Uk seat maker Cobra to design a lightweight Carbon seat which will use the original AM base for forward, back, height and tilt adjustment but will be fixed back like the AM seats.
They have now produced the first mouldings for evaluation and soft finish design which will be able to be matched to original AM interior designs and colours!

As soon as pictures and design details are available then I will post them.

Keep the faith we will get a solution.

That sounds excellent. Very encouraging.

Many thanks for the feedback on your Cobra Specials.
I look forward to seeing the results.
One issue which keeps cropping up is finding someone prepared to install new seats that are not OEM. There appears to be warranty problems related to safety specifications/airbags.
Any thoughts?

Hi Steve

From what I was told by Aston Martin Derby they are not allowed to retrofit the official Aston lightweight seats because they have no Airbag and the car was produced with seats which have air bags!

Unfortunately this is an issue that only the owner can decide upon however with regards to warranty I had no worries with mine after I had the BR upgrades done as long as the claim is not connected to or caused by said upgrades .

Cobra are a top quality FIA approved manufacturer and therefore the seats would be only offered if they achieved those same standards.

I hope this helps and as requested will keep you posted, should hopefully have them in the car by Burghley House show!

Regards
