TVRSSW SERVICE
Discussion
Booked my Chimaera in for a 12k service and MOT back in January, reserved a courtesy car and took it down last Friday morning.....have never been here before.
Was welcomed by the owner Colin and I explained a list of faults that I would like looked into as well as the main service.
Saturday afternoon.....car ready for collection.
Colin then took me through the whole service, explaining in detail every issue that I had raised with him, also a few potential problems that I should be aware of in the future (radiator).
My car had also been cleaned inside and out which I was not expecting.
The drive home...car felt and sounded completely different ( for the better with 4 wheel geo check/adjustment and previous clunky gear changes).
I can't wait to take it out on a nice dry day to put it through the paces.
My point being.....this is a business that cares passionately about TVR's and has vast knowledge. You get what you pay for and I will be returning to get my TVR serviced here as long as I own one.

One hears good things about this business.
I have to say, what you have just described sound like a 'normal' TVR service as carried out by Mole Valley when I first bought my car, and for the next 6-7 years.
Right down to the full valet before collection. (a thorough valet, not 14 hours of detailing mind you)
I recently checked some old invoices, and the amazing thing is; even TVR garages with a reputation for being a little on the expensive side, are currently charging less (by about £150) for servicing than I was paying in 2000, (Mole Valley was charging the same as anyone else then).
They always needed the car for a full 24 hours, and conversations with a couple of garage mechanics confirm that they took 'a full day' to complete the service.
Somewhere in that time they were doing more than changing the oil, filter and spark plugs.
Sounds like you have simply received a 'normal' service, and good on TVRSSW for knowing what that should include

I guess that I'm just used to the modern day service...book it in, pay and drive away with nothing more than a stamp in the service history.
It was money well spent and feel 100% confident that every item on the 12k service was done properly. Colin is a truly nice bloke.
Incidentally, there was a supercharged 450 Chimaera in there ( Rolex Blue )...you could have eaten your dinner off the engine it was so clean.
Very nice.
