Alternatives to petrol Ford Focus estate for £8k?

Ok my sis wants me to find her a petrol ford focus estate for £8000. Before I do, are there any alternatives / better makes of similar size and budget I should (get her to) consider? She doesn't want anything bigger, so must be similar size estate car to ferry round two tiddlers with perambulators etc. Since I pay no interest to this sort if car I have no idea if there is a wonderful mazda or whatever that I should be redirecting her to get. Must be petrol.

edit* the seat ibiza estate looks quite good. There's a 1.4 petrol (made by vw?) Quite cheap, and quite a small car like a supermini, but with a big load area which seems pretty cool.

I have a company Ibiza estate on an 11 plate. Please don't! It's awful. Build quality is poor and dealers refuse to put it back together under warranty. More mechanical and electrical issues than I could fit on a page.

Spending 8k on a ford is dodgy IMO. It's already 2nd hand and a couple of years after she buys it it will be worth a couple of grand tops

I'd look at an A3 or golf estate
