Wondered what the current thinking across the collective was around headlight conversions nowadays..? Getting a respray so have an opportunity to make a change on the front end. Currently standard, and love the classic look matched with my dark green colour, so in no hurry to change, but I'm always open minded ears

My current stand - albeit slightly tempered.

HiD conversion... Always felt like venturing onto thin ice

Arent HID's in H4 reflector units a bit pants?

I always thought accepted wisdom with h4’s was just to get uprated bulbs like Philips Xtreme or Osram Nightbreakers.

And for £15 looks like a good fix compared with a Grand's worth of conversion. Assuming that is that it's actually a fix? And not just a small step up from s£!te to woefully inadequate still?

They are not as good as Xenon's (not that I've had Xenon's on my Tiv but have on my Daily) but they are a huge improvement over standard at very low cost.

PS - that's assuming your reflectors are in good condition. wink

My opinion Lupo lights if done well look great, they are clean and elegant like the rest of the lines on the Cerbera and to 99% of people that look at the car look original. They are also far rarer than any other light upgrade.

Part of the problem with the headlights as I understand it is voltage drop as it runs from battery to control unit in the boot then back to the lights so lots of wire. It doesn't matter how good the bulbs are if their not getting the correct power to make them perform.

I had the originals & changed them to blended in pods myself just because I could (& a minor scrap paid for the re-spray). That was back around 2002, I loved them at the time as they looked more modern, but now I kinda wish I’d just kept the originals, I think they suit the lines better.

The original lights are the shape the wing was modelled around & the pods lights don’t really sit quite right in the confines of the old head light surround. At the time of fitting I did think about cutting further back into the wing to get them to sit better, but chickened out of it as it! The pod lights look much better in the Tuscan & later car wings as they were made to have them.

Saying that I won’t be swapping back any time soon.

Originality is king, stick with the singles.

I,d stick with what the car came with.

If it came with single headlamps keep it like that.

If it came with Tuscan style blended in keep it like that.

If it came with the Tuscan style pods (personally I would get them blended in)Keep it like that.

She's a '99 at heart so came (and still has) with classic single style.

My issue is that they are useless! Still not seen a good solution out-of-the-box, hence considering the mod

I like both but probably sway towards the MK2 lights.

In terms of popularity, the thing I ask myself is how many people convert their MK2 lights to the older style?

One way of getting the headlights to work much better is to use the control box in the boot to just control relays to switch a 12volt feed taken direct from the battery.

Most Cerbs only have 10V or so at the headlight bulg due to the length of the wires feeding them.

I have the fibreglass pods so wondered what else I would need to do a conversion.

The pods are the 2 light ones....

Does anyone know what lamps, rings, connectors etc I would need and how best to do the upgrade in terms of the wiring setup.
