Seriously, Mike Ashley would avoid a P38 for fear of bankruptcy. You might as well take up an offer from a Nigerian bank trustee over a $30m shuftee.

It's quite an interesting thing, would like to see an under bonnet shot with engine in situ. I'd imagine he's probably way off with his power estimate even given the extensive list of modifications, but I could be wrong. Any TVR buffs care to comment?

P38s are famous for falling apart & costing loads to fix all the time. The people I've known who've worked at LR specialists say Overfinch stuff is badly made, badly assembled, falls apart all the time & costs loads to fix. I'm sensing a pattern tbh.

I'd expect low 300's as an absolute maximum for a 5.0

Body mods look horrific

BUT

engine could be lovely- it has all the right work done to it. If its been on a rolling with Mark Adams then its been properly setup. Its top hat linered so you won't have any issues their, and if the oil has been changed regularly (as being kind, this guy could be an enthusiast), then it won't be gunked up- the lpg significantly helps here.

I'd be wanting to know who did the engine work, when and what the servicing has been like since.

I would have concerns over the autobox unless it has had frequent oil changes (every 20-30k miles), as with the extra power it will potentially be ruinous.

Air suspension no longer a problem!

Personally I wouldn't buy it because of the body mods, and possibility of crash damage, but I wouldn't write it off mechanically for sure.

Ok, maybe the seller the is no AA Gill when it comes to writing, but I don't think it is fair or even prudent to completely discount the vehicle entirely on that basis though. Some of my most mechanically gifted friends are probably not the most literate.

but for many people its also one of THE most troublesome areas, as when it goes wrong, you ARE fixing it, and if you can't do it yourelf (or haven't modded the system for manual intervention) then its going to cost you a fair chunk.

Friend of mine recently had 2 airbags, and a pump done at a "specialist" and came away four figures lighter (although suspect that included a full service too). part should have been £300 tops?
