1980s V8 - door mirrors?

An acquaintance is trying to source a pair of mirrors to fit the above - we have heard that it shares them with a 1980s Ford, possibly an XR3i, but my amateurish Googling hasn't turned anything suitable up? Any ideas chaps?
Give works service a call. And post of picture of my favorite Aston, would be my advice.
You may need to be a bit more specific on the year your friend's Aston V8 is. AM used two different electrically adjusted mirrors in the 1980s.
The first type was used until 1985, chassis number 12474 being the last fitted. It was made by a company called Surrey Steel and had a painted plastic body mounted on a chrome base. It went out of production long ago and no new ones are left.

The second type had a metal body and was mounted on a black base. It was fitted from 1985 and is still available.

Funnily enough, although I can't find it now I think it was a post from you on AMOC forum where I found the Lotus info..
