Can't Choose New Car

Dear Fellow Motorist.
I have abit of a problem.....
Normally I am not a fussy car person, my motto is as long as its got wheels its good enough for me. But, now that i saved up (took ages) around under 10k I need to pick a car.
Now its like being spoilt for choice I can not psychically choose a car. I have my 3rd child on the way so i need space. But, cause i am only in my late 20's I can't picture my self driving a people carrier. Nor a nissian micra thing
I have looked at all kinds of cars, I have been looking about an seems people have moved from germans to japs. I kinda like the 2009 Mazda 6 2.5ltr Sport but my dad said Mazda are the most expensive car for repairs (said he red in a paper) so I looked at lexus is250 looks too small so the gs300 i seen stuff that goes wrong.
But I understand that no matter what car you buy you could have problems. I understand that but I was hoping a fellow motorist could point me in the right direction to what car make to stay away or most reliable car to choose.

Subaru Legacy 2.5/3.0 or the outback model (more space)
As we have had the 3 Series mentioned, what about a 5 Series (also estate model)
I'd do your own research on the Mazda and only take what is printed at face value, I'm sure there's plenty of information out there to be had.

Your choice will depend to a certain extent on how old your other 2 kids are - if you're needing 3 child seats then really an MPV is the most sensible choice - think Ford S-Max, or even the smaller Ford C-Max. Your partner won't thank you for a sportier car that can't get everyone in.

Errmmm update on information for you's 2 kids are in boosters n one is gunna be a new born so I am sure i can fit in the back of the car with out needing 7 seats.
Like I have mentioned I have looked about but too many cars are catching my eye i will convince my self into a massive 'luxury' car with the whole sha-bang but some cars had like small silly problems an they was saying was costing them stupid money to get sorted. If i had silly money to throw about I would be straight on the m5 or amg's but I haven't.
I like the sound of a few cars that been said already but my misses as took at shine to the dodge nitro 2.8 sxt.. Is this something to avoid?

Honestly get a nice 330i or 530i for that money depending how big you want to go in estate or saloon format

I have been on auto trader today an the only 330i or 530i i can find is ones with high mileage well is about 80k mileage high for these types of bmw? Abit clueless me at the moment Honestly get a nice 330i or 530i for that money depending how big you want to go in estate or saloon format

You can't get 3 young kids (comfortably) in the back of any BMW in this price range.
Also in nearly all other "normal" cars the middle rear seat is a bench thingy.
I reckon that you are stuck and need an MPV.
We currently have a old Galaxy (2.3 petrol) with 7 full size seats. We have the middle seat removed so the 5 yr old gets in, walks through the middle and buckles herself up in the back. 2.5yr old behind passenger seat in an isofix seat and 6m old behind driver in a rear facing seat.
Still enough room in boot for a double buggy.
The intention was to have this for a year or so while the middle child can use a booster then "downsize" to an S-Max or similar.
Anything smaller would be a massive PITA...also consider that seperation between the kids is very useful to stop them poking each others eyes out, pulling hair and generally getting properly rowdy.
10k would get you a nice S-Max or a newer shape Galaxy. Volvo XC90 also a good call - a pal of mine has 3 kids a bit older than mine and manages well in one of these.

Make sure you try your kiddie seats in a few cars, as others have said getting a proper child seat and 2 boosters in the back of most cars might be a tight fit.
Something like a Forrester might be worth a look, the extra height is supposed to be easier to get babies in and out off, and they're available with decent engines.
BMW's in particular tend to have a bit less room inside compared to equivalent sized cars, presumably due to gearbox/driveshaft layout. In terms of normal hatchback/estates then Mondeo and Octavia get you a fair bit of car for your money.

80k is nothing for one they will run up to 200k no issues if looked afterCheers

They are very good on fuel for a 3.0 as well
Can get lower millage for your budget though this is decent spec 06 plate 530i estate with 64k miles within budget

You can get those multimac (sp) car seat things but they look a right faff to me.
As I see it you have the following choices (quick list - prob more than this):-
Ford Galaxy
Renault Grand Espace (2.0d version only)
VW Sharan
Seat Alhambra
Toyota Previa
Ford S-Max*
Citroen C4 Grand Picasso*
- still a bit tight for little children.
