Honda Integra DC2

I thought it was probably about time I started a thread on my car having owned it for about 18 months. I'd owned a Milano Red 30th Anniversary EP3 for five years which had been faultless, but due to changing jobs and taking a company car, it was not getting used much - so I decided to sell it.
I'd had my company car for 6 months, but was missing the involvement of NA engines. Initially I was looking at buying a PH favourite, the trusty MX5, but a good example would have been £3k upwards with the bits I wanted. Then I started thinking about good old Honda engines, so the search moved back to the Red H and DC2's. The long and the short of it was that to find a good one was going to cost a fair bit more than I wanted to spend, but man maths prevailed. The car I was going to look at had 4 previous owners and had covered 53,300 miles. The only changes over the OEM spec were a later 98 steering wheel and a JDM exhaust.

Going through the service history, there were bills for everything, including all MOT's and loads of invoices from Honda as well as the original invoice for the car at £19,999. It's always good to get a feel for how it's been looked after and it would appear this car has been cherished. The previous owner did all the servicing himself, which normally would put me off a bit, however there were receipts for everything including cam belt, oxygen sensors, engine mounts and various bushes.
On getting the car home, I took it down to the place that looked after my EP3 - TGM. They are a great bunch, so I asked them to go over the car and highlight anything that might need sorting out. They got the car up on the ramps, gave it a good check over and pointed out the various mounts and bushes that had been changed and gave it a clean bill of health. They then took the car out for a test drive and came back confirming it was a good example. Always nice to hear!
When I bought the Teg my wife and I were expecting our first child. It was a car I'd wanted to own for a while and it probably wasn't the most sensible thing I could have done, but there you go. The little one arrived in March last year which has been amazing, but undoubtedly affected my ability to jump in the car and get out for a drive after work. Being a third car it only really gets used when the weather is good and I've been SORN'ing it over the Winter months because I didn't see the point in paying tax on a car I wouldn't get much use of. So the car has spent a lot of time sat in the garage connected to a trickle charger.
Last year I only managed 650 miles, but they were far more enjoyable than the 15k business miles I covered. I got the car booked in for full service, including valve clearances and the transmission fluid. One of the rear calipers was sticking so that was replaced. I also got a seat cover to keep the Recaro bolsters in good condition. A mate of mine works as a trimmer and they were having a clear out and he sorted me out with the seat cover.
Then being the first of April and having some decent weather, I taxed it and went out for a nice drive. It's great to get back out in it.
Future plans are to get the wheel alignment done, bleed the brakes, check over the discs and pads and change the coolant. Then I want to give the car a good under-seal.
