Train toilets?

That's pretty much exactly what it looks like! Seb Gordon said:
We understand this is a pretty unpleasant issue and we are committed to spending billions of pounds on new trains to reduce the number of carriages where this is an issue.
A strange quote after the part about retrofitting to tanks to older trains, surely they could just commit to spending thousands and still solve the problem?remember reading that they reckoned the ballast did the same job as a sewage bed when the chain was pulled at above 40mph. you are never going to get rid of those loos as long as there is steam hauled charter trains then there will be mark 1 and 2 coaches that do not have toilet tanks and cant be fitted with them
I remember a few years ago at Reading Station I needed the loo, so jumped onto a train that was at the station.. did what I needed to do and came off to see the girlfriend looking horrified ... turns out it had discharged the "business" across the platform in a 6ft streak of wet brown
Is it too difficult to fix an interlock to the loos whereby they can't be flushed when standing still, bit like an inertia gizmo on seat belts, then again bound to fail in short time.
But can it be that expensive to fit holding tanks, with all the elf n safety BS these days I am surprised they still get away with ditching it on the tracks.

Nearly as bad as me! Having sailed into a small bay East of Cherbourg and desperately needing the loo after we'd set anchor. Imagine my horror on seeing the resultant "pump out" with divers swimming under it!!! Obviously five mates kept quiet on deck not drawing neighbouring boats attention to my faux pas at all...Vipers said:

Scotrail seem to have fitted some of their flush through the floor fleet with electric bog flushes that don't work when the train is stationary. Unfortunately the net effect is that the bog tends to be left unflushed if the train is stopped when the user finishes...Gassing Station | Boats, Planes & Trains | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
