Coming from a Hot Hatch so want something more refined

Would be personally my preference but they are making mad money atm, a VXR can't be got for less than 9k, while the VXR8 prices continue to drop which is confusing.

V8 ZT does look like it could be fun though (don't care that it doesn't make 53463457637bhp)

But. You don't say how many miles you're gonna do; if it's a daily driver; and what kind of driving you'll be doing.

I live 10 minutes from work but do the odd long trip, so like 10,000 miles a year or a little less.

Used to 19mpg from my focus (modified a fair bit) so i know fuel wise i could live with either option.

Im to young to give up on life and buy a diesel yet

9.5k on car as I'm in ROI and I have conversion rate to consider + travelling expenses and 2-3k Euros to swap car to Irish reg.

Brave man to face €1500 a year tax! So very glad I'm not in Galway anymore.

Anyway, to answer the question I'd go for the MG, it's unusual and should sound great. The Monaros are beasts though...

If you're bringing over the car immediately, you'll also be liable for VRT. That's another 36% of the OMSP (as decided by the pixies in Revenue) to get your Irish plate, as well as VAT. If you can prove you have owned the car for more than 6 months, then this is waived.

Yea I'm budgeting 3k or so for that on top of the 9.5k

Tbh I'm thinking of the MG as I want abit of comfort.

Yea I'm from galway myself too and top cc rate is now 1800+ I'm already paying 1300 for a focus St so I'm justifying it by giving up the fags

My mates banging on about "lol only 259 bhp from s 4.6 v8" but its not about power for me its about comfort noise and the relative reliability of s n/a v8

With that in mind, what about a E46 M3, early, good condition ones are going for about 5-7k.

Maybe, i think they look abit dated now though, E92 335i coupe is also up for consideration.
