Slicks and roll cage help
Discussion
anti roll bars have nothing to do with it, all they do is manage weight transfer. If you keep adding grip, eventually instead of sliding it'll lift the inside off the floor. Slicks add a massive amount of grip - whether it's enough, I don't know, but it is 'more' likely to flip, yes.
Is it *more* likely to flip - yes, definitely, 100%, no doubt.
Is it *likely* to flip. Well, statistically, no, probably not.
If I had to pluck figures from mid-air I would say that one in a 100,000 turbo nutter barges will roll on track days, add slicks to it and I would say 1 in 10,000 will roll - probably 10 times more likely in my opinion.
We (BookaTrack) have never had a turbo nutter barge roll on our track days. I know of plenty of incidents on other track days where cars like this have rolled. Is it a coincidence that we don't allow slicks without a cage? impossible to tell.

PS most of the incidents i'm aware of where a car has rolled has been as a result of launching off a kerb. with that sort of weight involved it only takes a relatively small amount of rotational force to get a slick to load up to the point where the car will flip instead of slide.

I have used slicks on my BMW E30 M3...no cage and lightly modded suspension (uprated, lowered springs and adjustable dampers along with full polybushing)...never been even close to rolling the car...I've never been pulled up on the no cage, either, and use slicks mostly cos they are a damn sight cheaper than R888s or similar tyres...they also last longer and offer more grip/feel (in the dry, obviously)...downside is you need a set of road/wet tyres and rims...

Jonny knows how to insult his customers cars still then..... Makes for good client relations NOT!
Nicely out of context and as an owner of a string of turbo nutter barges over the years, I personally take that kind of talk as a compliment. Turbo nutter is a good thing.

Yours, A turbo nutter - sans barge.

If your gona run slicks on your Impreza you should first get a true baffled oil sump and either add a fuel swirl pot or at least a Spec C anti surge box on fuel pump in tank. Also would advise getting rid of factory breather system and add oil catch can with VTA breather. Roll cage is advisable with slicks. Better off IMO going for either R888's AD08s or 595RSR instead
