Well it's 10 years since I sold my Chimaera M945NOP.
Last year I bought a 350i "Wedge"
Yesterday I "won" another Chimaera, collect it on Friday if all goes well.
Good to be back.
I think.

Wedge for sale at Easter, don't think I dare keep two....

Hi
Tried many failed at most.......
Generally an average driver in an uncompetitive car....
Road cars don't make good competition cars especially when you need to drive them home again and to work the next day. Reason I stopped hillclimbing the Caterham was I saw the guy in front of me put his Westfield through a hedge and thought "I cannot afford to do that".
Autotests in the old days (1970's) were great fun, driving home (through the Tyne Tunnel) with no brakes having burst a pipe etc.
Rallying as an average driver or slightly better Navigator was great in the old Road Rallying days. Escorts Firenzas Minis Imps etc
Still like Hillclimbing best, although the long waits between runs can be a drag sometimes. You need to make a few friends to chat too. Currently using my old mini clubman on a small budget.
I've always gone into something worried about damage or the cost of entry/preparation etc as in the back of my mind I've thought the money should be spent on the house repairs etc.
Anyway back on Chimaeras it is the light blue one that was on the Bay of Fleas last week. Anyone know it?

Hi Tony..when were you rallying in the NE? I too competed on road rallies as an average driver/better navigator from '74 to early 80's and then into stage events, also competed in very local autotests and hillclimbs. Which club were you in?

Hi Mick, your name seems familiar
I was in Tynemouth Club most of the time, but did join Blyth Valley for a while and also (think) Northumbrian.
Did a lot of marshalling on night rallies, drove an old police Imp on a few events, also another Imp. Nevigated for a couple of lads in Firenzas and Viva 2.3's and later a good friend, now in the USA - Dave Lee in his Excort Mk 2. After he rolled it a couple of times (without me in it) we Autocrossed it for a couple of years until he finished it off BIG style!
Autotested an MG Midget in the early 70's, Hillclimbes at Harewood, Barbon & Doune in a Clan, Lotus 7, BMW2002tii, Caterham and currently an old mini.
Still see a few of the old team from TDMC, athough, living in N Yorkshire I've been out of touch a little recently.
