Super-Guard: Just what does it Include
Discussion
Afternoon all.
Me and the Mrs Untaleted finally sorted her new card at the weekend.(V40 R-Design)
During the usual haggling we finally got the GAP insurance bit and after much waffle he was near to price I wanted to pay.
However in that smooth salesman was he "threw in a Free-Superguard" treatment, now I'm not really fussed either way as it was only £10 more I could get the GAP Privatly. So to save the hassle I let him think his smooth sales patter had worked.
Suppose my guestion is what exactly is a "Superguard Treatment" as I've normally told them to stuff in, not paying £250 odd for that.
Is just overprice perp work, or your geniune Snake oil guff.
any advice/experience would be great

If it's offered free and on a used car, consider it - our 335d (for free) was done and looked good plus I got a bag full of goodies probably worth £200 or more (their bird muck remover is VERY good!).
But to pay £300 for it is utter madness. You can do better yourself with £50 and a couple of hours graft.

I used to work in a dealership and ours was a different name but the official line is that it will give a guarantee against fading once applied, it was pretty much considered to be snake oil though.
judging by the amount of posts regarding this on the 'Car Sales Memes' Facebook page, I suspect you may be right....eybic said:
I certainly wouldn't pay or suggest anyone pays any more than £100 for it, some of the stuff you get in the kit is pretty good but it's certainly not £500 worth.
An unusual thing for a Haymarket employee to say when so many of your paying trade advertisers make decent money out of selling it...markmullen said:

It's my personal opinion Mark, buyers can make their own choices about what extras they choose to have on their purchases. A lot of our trade advertisers sell cars I don't like but being employed by Haymarket doesn't mean I have to love everything they sell.I've heard very few positive comments about SG. Of course it's possible that all these people are lying or are mega fussy but I doubt it.
I amazed that anyone would actually pay the full £250-500 that dealers try to charge for it. And even if you do get it free you run the risk of it being applied by the same idiots who wash your car come service time and actually leave the paintwork in a worse state than it was before they got their hands on it.

Not to mention the salesman adding it to the finance so some poor soul ends up paying 5 years interest on top.I amazed that anyone would actually pay the full £250-500 that dealers try to charge for it. Thanks for all the comments chaps.
Pretty much what I thought, ok as long as you did not offer up your first born to pay for it.
Like I said dealer was throwing in for nothing so I don't care that much.
I'll let you all know if I notice anything once we pick it up (Last week of May it's looking like)
