Hi all,
First time posting in readers cars, but thought now is the time.
I'll start with a bit of background, my car history is thus: MK3 astra 1.6, Corsa C 1.2sxi, Nissan Primera GT, Volvo 940 LPT Estate, Renault Clio Ph1 172, Land Rover Discovery 2 V8.
And now I've decided to do something I thought I would never do and get a new car, a BMW M135i. It was a bit of a snap decision. I went into the dealership on a whim when I was in Inverness on a trip to the cash and carry. The salesman was great, no pressure and gave me such a good deal on the Disco and the finance quote was so reasonable I felt it was a no brainer.
I kept it simple and went for a manual 3dr, in Estoril blue, with oyster/black interior, the only options were the Harmon/Kardon stereo upgrade and the driver comfort pack.
So two and a half months later and here it is!
To say I'm happy is an understatement, the car is great, tons of power but the ease that you can access it is remarkable. The handling is brilliant and I feel very much in tune with it. There's no plans for doing anything to it other than maybe a PH sticker and a good protective wax and then some good long drives when I can.
I've not got any more pics as my phone died, but I'll get some more once it's cleaned up and properly waxed.

I have a 5 door in white (auto, tints, comfort pack) - amazingly quick, excellent interior quality and great sound.
Downsides for me personally, I thought the brakes would be better given their size, twitchy rear end and it feels big and heavy.
Overall though an amazing car for the money! Enjoy!

I was really lucky with the interior as I had actually ordered oyster/oyster and was a bit apprehensive about it. Then the dealer phoned me up letting me know that due to my15 changes they have changed it to oyster/black.
With regards to keeping it clean, I'm definitely going get some good leather protection on there asap, but it's not really a daily as I don't drive much other than occasional trips to the cash and carry and some blats around the highlands
Actually the practicality of the hatch was what stopped me from waiting for the 235i as I do need the car to carry a decent amount of stuff.
With regards to the manual/auto debate, I couldn't do without a manual for what is essentially a occasional/fun use car, if I was driving 20k a year then auto would be much more of a consideration, it is a good gearbox though, quick short shift and decent clutch modulation, the only problem I have is even with average feet (8's) the footwell is tight for heel and toeing, plus in trainers I catch the outside of my foot occasionally when depressing the clutch, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.
Can't really give judgement on the brakes yet as I've not driven it far or hard enough, though coming from older cars I find them a little snatchy at first but with decent stopping power.
I'll update as I get more miles under the wheels and get more of a feel for it.

I would highly recommend some Sonax products over a wax. A sealant works very well on a metallic paint!
Pop onto clean your car and buy some Sonax Polymer Net Shield, then a sprayer of their Brilliant shine detailer. PNS is the main sealant offering protection, then the BSD is like a post wash top up to put on every few washes.
Much better value and logetivity than fancy named waxes. I'll post a pic of purely BSD on my EB car if you like with some rain if you like?

I've got some Soft99 Fusso Coat wax coming as I saw a few reviews of it and it looks very effective. I'll have a look at the Sonax as well and a few others that I've been recommended.
I need to go to CYC anyway as I need new buckets and grit guards and clay and lube etc... Funny how getting a new car kickstarts a bout of OCD!

Just a quick update and some more pics. I got my new wax/sealant in the post today, all the way from Russia! It's epic, so easy on and off that I managed the whole car in under an hour.
I gave the bonnet, front wings and roof a polish with autoglym deep shine, then did the entire car with the Soft99 wax. I'm almost looking forward to some rain as this stuff is apparently very hydrophobic and from the clips I've seen it just throws water off.
To be honest I'm glad to get a good layer of protection on the car
