Stupid Cold Weather starting

Is it just me or does anyone else have a car that wont start after two days being left?
Rolled it out of the garage having replaced the battery this year and jump started it but now the battery wont keep charge. Bloody thing.
Any advice? Is this normal or is my car just the most stubborn piece of junk on earth?

Most people say hello...
Battery should last 2 or 3 years, sounds like your car is draining the power. So the cause of the power drain needs to be found, also might be worth buying a Battery conditioner...
I would also would get the Battery tested as it might have dropped a cell or if it has lost all it's charge it will never be as good as new no matter how much you charge it....

Sorry mate, just spent all afternoon trying to get it started and back into the damn garage!
The only reason I got it out in the first place was in preperation for putting power into the garage tomorrow for the trickle charger!
The garage is cold and a little damp, so I think maybe that is what the matter is. What do you think?
Also jump started the car and ran it down the road, got back and turned it off, then it wouldnt start again.

webbochim450 said:Sound like your battery has had it!! often when have gone flat will never charge again properly... I would get it tested but i think a good quality new one is on the cards & if left for any time plug the conditioner in, as this will keep the battery in tip top condition...

what type of battery have you got and where did you get it from? Is it an 096 or 072 etc?
072 i think, but it had a high cold cranking rate, if your doing it yourself take the box & get the biggest/highest CCR B
d you can squeeze in Thats what i'm doing next time even if a few £'s more...
does your interior light go out when you close the doors? mine didnt and even though i turned the light off seperately the battery was dead after 2 days it turned out to be a badly adjusted door pin now i can leave it in the garage for 2 weeks without problems
But my batterys rarely last over a year the plates break away inside the battery and short out i blame the bumpy suspension and south west lanes

That isn't long enough to put any charge into the battery, even assuming the electrics were all working properly. But from the sound of it yours isn't charging properly or has a current drain somewhere.

When rummaging around under the bonnet having heard a whining noise I suspected wqas the starter not dis-engaging or alternator?. Discovered that the alternator pulley was magnetised with the ignition off. Had it checked out and it was diode leakage into the rotor windings. Local specialist repaired it there and then for £20.
