DB9 VS. CONTINENTAL GT???
Discussion
About to pull the trigger (or my Visa debit card) on one or the other.
Both more or less the same year (2005), mileage, warranty, price etc. Leaning towards the CGT but the social stigma is a bit worrying... would appreciate any views.
I've got a feeling that whichever one I get now it will probably be replaced by the other in a few years anyway. But which do I buy this week?

I was in the same position 18 months ago, and I went for the DB9. The Bentley was brutal and well appointed, but the Aston is what I always wanted and my heart ruled my head. Don't regret the decision for 1 second. The Aston puts grin on my face whenever I open the garage door.

if you're going to replace one with the other in the future, depreciation should be on your mind.
Which one will retain more 'value' for when you want to swap?
Personally, I'd take the DB9 first

A mate of mine is in the fortunate position of being able to indulge such activities, and went for the Conti GT first.
Was gobsmacked at the bills even though they were bearable to him, but the Conti got replaced by a Jag XF-R after about 18 months.
DB9 was still an itch though, and he eventually did the DB9 thing about a year ago. Lasted 12 months, and is now back in another supercharged Jag.
And so the dubious honour of partnering my inter-galactic mileage Golf TDI goes to...
a 2005 Continental GT.
Just so comfortable. And that ability to accelerate down a wet slip road as though the road was dry won the day. One owner, fully serviced by the supplying dealer and with a full Bentley warranty. Lovely.
