Just to let you all know I am making progress on the build, yes I know I started it in 2010, almost four years to the day! but things just keep getting in the way of progress, you know how it is!

I have been putting together a blog for the build, the good news is the car is a long way further forward than the blog updates, a few more to follow shortly, but here's what I have added so far:

http://www.erichstahler.com/category/tvr-3000m-rac...

enjoy.

That looks great - from someone who runs a V6 Essex engine in a Marcos can I just suggest you do your homework on who you use/buy bits from to build the engine - we blew 2 engines at the Ring before we had one built from Ric Wood and then touch wood they have been fantastic

Love the build blog!

RE your motorsport news: I think my father knew Gerry Marshall (I'll quiz him about it later)

If you could include videos that would be the icing on the cake!

Have fun!

Hi Kickstart,
Thanks for the complement, I also heed your words of wisdom regarding the Essex lump. Would be very interested to know a bit more about the spec and ballpark cost for your Ric Wood engine, if you didn't want to discus such things on a forum perhaps you could PM me?
Cheers.

As I am not an engine builder all I can say is that the engines can be marginal on oil pressure and running them at places like the long straight at the Ring has a real tendency to blow up engines if they have not been carefully designed.
Without wishing to sound like an advert for Ric Wood, his engine has been great (touch wood) and produces very good power (about 280bhp) with lots of torque and on open pipes it sounds superb. He would be my first port of call.

Have fun
