Hi everyone,

Just bought a 911 turbo 2004 plate last week. When I was enjoying my drive back from Leicester with my grin from ear to ear a warning light came on to fill up more oil. so dutifully I pulled up and filled up the oil. The engine lid then would not latch. So the lid was only kept shut by the down force with the boot lid warning light on! The chap I bought it from only drove it on summer weekends. The metal latch was a bit stiff so I sprayed it with WD40. this now at least allows me to lock the latch by hand but the lock wont release when I press the release button. I can hear the solenoid click when I press the button. The boot lid warning light is now off when I drive except going over a bump!

Can some one please tell me and I apologize if this has been discussed before(I tried the search on the forum) whether there is an easy fix or do I need to change the whole lock mechanism please? I assume this should be something I can do myself without being skinned by porsche dealer! Thanks in advance.
