Hi all,

I just wondered what peoples preference is if/when buying, does slightly modified put you off over a standard car?

Car in question is a V8 Vantage, non standard items are velocity performance 200 cell cats and back box, 20" alloys, polished interior panels - including brushed aluminum sill plates/door handles/centre section/ash tray, V12 gearknob and rear diffuser.

I still have the optional extra upgraded 7 spoke 19" alloys, standard leather gearknob, cats/backbox, rear diffuser and can source the interior items if required.

I'd like to sell as is with the standard items included but is a standard car more appealing to the purist/enthusiast rather than one that has been played with?

In my opinion (I know everyone is different) I think the additional items are fairly subtle and benefit the car. Interior panels look gorgeous compared to the purple'ish sills and handles, the exhaust tone is perfect while the wheels I guess are marmite though, some will like them some will not.

I've had some interest but all seems rather half hearted so is the conscientious to revert to factory standard for a sale?

Regards,
Gareth

I would put standard wheels back on and then sell as is.

As above. Wheels are marmite, therefore I would change.

Thanks for your thoughts guys.

The AM wheels are standard colour so may have them done a dark anthracite with the car being Tungsten silver.

But, you are now suggesting modifying the road wheels.

I would try selling with the standard wheels. The majority of buyers would probably be used to seeing photos of standard spec cars, so your advertising should then appeal to the maximum number of potential buyers.

That is my thinking anyway. Good luck.

Of course, that didn't even cross my mind changing the colour.
I may fit them as they are now and see how the sale goes like that.

Thanks

Yup! Agree with all of that. Standard will appeal to the most number of potential buyers

By returning the car to as standard as possible, you will be appealing to the maximum number of buyers. The 'modders' will still be able to mod a standard car whilst the rockers non-modders won't be put off.

So, if (when) it is me, I would return it all to standard and then sell the bits/wheels/backbox elsewhere. You will probably realise the most cash that way.
