Replacing carpet door trim with Alcantara
Discussion
Has anybody done this? or even seen it done?
Are the any photos?
I believe some of the last Chims had alcantara instead of carpet in the doors.
If anybody has done this where did the Alcantara come from?
Was it easy?
I don't like carpets on the door, its just wrong! want to change it

It looks (and feels) fantastic - much better than the cheapo carpet. Unfortunately, my digi-camera has gone walkies, otherwise I'd post a piccy, but trust me, it looks tons better. I'd actually like to re-trim the rest of the car to match, but funds temp. restricted
It was carried out by Plunkett, who had the car before me. If he spots this thread, I'm sure he'll throw in his 10p'th.

I too would love to see some pictures as i dont know what Alcantara is and dont like the carpet on the doors.
My carpet is maroon in colour, against magnolia leather, and leaves very unsightly deposits
in the two 'wells' in the door.

Post edit: Have looked up alcantara on the net but haven't found a reasonable source for it, if anyone knows then drop me a line. thanks, mike
