Hmm what's the difference between that one and an engine hoist? Looks good enough to do the job, mind.

Good luck!

An impressive bit of kit. Good luck and hope it goes as planned. Slowly, slowly!

The dolly will be erected tomorrow. I just got the engine hoist to take the engine out and also as an extra pair of hands

Will take some more pics tomorrow when she is flying :-)

Are you taking the engine out after? It will be much easier that way...

Looks to be the same as my 2-tonne long-reach Draper (they're all Chinese imports with different names)... I made a new extending boom section for mine that has a big D-shackle on the end instead of that daft bit of chain and hook... I didn't like the way the chain would put the bolt in bend.
Mine has a bigger bolt positioned so it bears on the lower wall of the boom - and the D-shackle is good for about 10 tonnes biggrin

Yes Adrian@ you should rent them out. I found your rate very acceptable :-) (nice to see you on the wedge side of PH, I know you have a soft spot for them :-)

Body off tomorrow which will allow me to roll the chassis out from under it, then engine out, then strip the chassis / suspension, then off for stripping / painting. Then then then :-)

Bloody hell, I would have to get the negatives (yeah negatives, that takes me back, Cosina CX-1 35mm THE pocket camera to have!!) out and scan them into the computer. A white 280i with black bumpers and then a gold 280i with a full 350i body kit....those were the days....
