Hi all
Sprang a water leak on my 350 few weeks back (pipe under inlet manifold) so I thought if I'm taking the manifold off I might as well have a look at the tappets as I've always had a slight ticking from the offside rear bank of cylinders. Well just had a look and found I've got no shims under the pedastal of the rockers. Is this normal ? Maybe none are required or is it someone's just not done it right? It's the same on the nearside rockers too ?
Been running ok and I'm fitting uprated cam and heads later in the year so Your thoughts and advice gents please !
Btw cam looks fine all well defined peaks- tappets on ghe noisy bit look ok no wear on face where it meets the cam

Can be no shims are required. Check the preload and take it from there. Lifters need to be bled down for this, don`t know in your situation how you can do that.
