Has anyone been for a trip on the K&WVR?

We're having a trip to Haworth on Monday, and wondered if it was possible to park somewhere south of the village and get a steam train ticket for the rest of the way?

I haven't been for a few years now, but as a child I went with my parents every year for almost 10 years solid I think. I can't help you with the actual question but I can tell you the rides are great and wandering around the sheds is great! I do remember limited parking at the sheds. No idea if any of that is of any use to you

Plenty of free parking at Oxenhope, which is the southernmost station.

Haworth is the next stop, parking is not free there. Don't know if it still applies, but it has had a reputation for over-zealous clampers.

So 'park and ride' is a good plan.

I spent an afternoon there this time last year. Highly recommended.

Oxenhope has a large car park, as does Ingrow. Oxenhope has an engine museum whereas Ingrow has a carriage museum, so both worth a visit.

Oakworth was the station used in The Railway Children also, so you could stop there.

That's decided then, we'll park at Oxenhope and get a steam train to Haworth - looks like it's about a 7 minute trip.

If you sit on the right, facing forwards, you'll get a good view of the engine sheds as you enter Haworth.

Had a great day, everything went to plan - including sitting on the right! Also got to stand on the footplate with my son after the return journey, which was a nice end to the day.
