I believe (or may be talking bks) the general crapness is actually an advantage.

Resources required to send a crap email to a not-very-gullible person: none (effectively)

Resources required to chase after someone who's just curious enough to reply to a well-crafted email (but almost certainly isn't gullible enough to send you money, ever): lots.

So you're better off enouraging all but the most gullible to not reply.

The answer is yes, and you have just proved this.
The scam is however almost certainly not what you think it is, the scam most likely is to send out a fairly nonsense email obviously a scam , to see what sort of responses it gets.
by replying who knows what you have now revealed about yourself
by reposting the message in a forum who know what else you have revealed about yourself.

the number 1 rule about scam emails is just to delete them and absolutely never respond, the email may seem like it was written by some non English speaking retard high on opium who could no more scam you than they could scam a 10 year old at his first rodeo, but that may well be deliberate.
