I need to source the upper and lower plastic covers/cowl that go around the steering column on my '84 350i - anyone know what they are from - is it SD1/TR7 ?

(ahh - cant edit my spelling mistake in title !)

Hi Mate...Without seeing it, It could be TR7...Grimmers has one and i would snap it up if it is the same...Make sure you get new cowl screws also....Cheers...Ziga

thanks Mark - that looks promising as I have one half of the old one - will check the pics tonight to see if it matches ...

will hold off on the door card template for now as I have another plan - might try and make the meet next Saturday ...

If the switchgear includes the main lights switch at bottom left and the backlights dimmer at top right it's SD1, if not, TR7.

ok thanks - I think its TR7 then as I don't think theres any dimmer or main lights - just the one stalk either side ...left is just indicators/dip main beam/horn

You should have a main light switch on the centre console if its a TR7 cowl..They are not easy to find and don't come up that often..Complete anyway's so i would grab it ASAP...Ziga
