I came across this lens at the Gadget show, there is a nice video of it being used at Brands Hatch in one of the links.
It attaches to a GoPro (or actually a GoPro attaches to it) and gives a 360 degree view.
In the interests of discloure, I wrote the artice, it's my day job, but I'm not gratitously cross posting. I've been on PH long enough to not do that.
