Just been cleaning my engine bay today inc. plenum and rocker covers.

I used Autoglym engine cleaner. Worked a treat and very quick.

All you do is spray the stuff on, agitate heavily soiled areas with a brush and rinse off. I used clingfilm to protect any wiring and actually used a wet sponge to rinse off so water didn't go all over the place. I'm happy with the result but may have another go when the weather isn't so cold!

thanks pullingpower, I have some specialist engine degreaser given to me by a friend in the trade and I have also used good old WD40 in previous engine bays, but i want to know about what to do after giveing it a dam good clean.

I want to know how and what to polish, using what in terms of materials, tools and products etc.

I really appreciate your advice and like the cling film tip, I know how sad it sounds but I am so made up with my car that i want to really enjoy it, not just when i am driving it!!
