Tracing the loss of 12V to the a/changer, I need to get my head unit out. It's the original Pioneer KEH-P4800 but I have no removal tools. Can't get a definitive answer but I think looking at them in the picture in the manual that it's maybe the PC5-80:

Or the PC5-79:

Or even the PC5-81!:

They all look the same to me. Anybody know for sure?

It still works well so I don't want to butcher it out using screwdrivers if I can help it. Still playing the occasional cassette at the moment. music

Got mine out by stuffing a steel ruler down each side.
BUT, be very careful, the walnut veneer is very thin and damages easily.
You are only using the rulers to release the catches, not to lever the unit out.

It won't really matter what ones you get, you'll still be able to use them if they're not perfect. The differences in them are the way in which they grab the radio so that you can pull it out with the tools, but they will still unlock the teeth either way so you'll be able to pull the radio out by just grabbing the front of it.

Cutting up a bit of thick plastic usually works rather than using a screwdriver, I've used an old xbox case to do one before smile

Any of them will do. All you need is a piece of light metal to push in and separate the clips.

Thanks. I'll get the cheapest. You're all correct in that they probably don't have to be a perfect fit.
