Hey everyone. I currently drive a c63 amg and whilst it's a great everyday car, I'm looking for a weekend toy!

I'm after something a bit quirky, fast, good handling.

So far I'm hooked on z car minis but not sure what I will get for 10k. They seem quite thin on the ground.

The car needs to be fairly reliable and id like something a bit quirky.

Any ideas?

Corvette C3 (miss mine so much)
or just go for a C5 might have to lift budget slightly.

Does it need to be practical? By that I mean have a roof?

My money would go in a Westfield for a 10k toy.

Caterham won't get you much, get a bit more bang for your buck with a westy.

Bit more practical, vx220

Maybe an Elise if you can find a good one for the money.

You might get a TVR for that money, I doubt it would be anything other than trouble though.

Lotus Elise S1, Vauxhall VX220, or Honda S2000.

Yep this for me, K series engines can be sorted headgasket wise for 300quid from specialists.

VX220 Turbo. When you want to sell it on, you will either make money or get what you paid for it.

How come?
Because every time I start the TVR I giggle a little at the rumble. Every time I drive the Chimeara I enjoy it (even doing a 200 mile motorway run).

The Elise was fun for lanes but that was really about it. Driving the Elise I missed the TVR.

I think a Westfield or something similar is the most likely option.

Love classic minis though and always wanted one. Couldn't live with how slow they are though do thought z car might be a good option.

Thanks for replies so far!

My vote would be for something like a Caterham or Westfield too. Preferably with a bike engine. smile

Im fortunate to have both a 200 bhp s1 elise, and a pre cat griff. The griff is great for cruising around listening to the v8 burble, but the elise is the one I take out if I want laugh out loud moments, its by far superior, both lovely cars though.
