2006 era Cayenne Turbo and Turbo S water pipes

Can anyone tell me if a car would have had the replacement aluminium pipes under warranty if the car has a full OPC stamped service book with say 70K plus miles?
Can you actually tell if the car has had them done from an inspection/look at the engine?
I know that various specialists do replace them for about £1200 and wonder if this should form part of any negotiation at purchase.

Vague recollection that the problem doesn't affect the Turbo engine.

Thanks, it does effect these models. I need to find out if you can tell if its done either by documentation or physical checking.

I'm told it's impossible to tell by looking without spending some time stripping bits off.

Rather than expecting a discount if it's not been done, when it may never need doing anyway (my 2006 has done 118k, I don't think they've been done, but not sure, it didn't affeect my decision to purchase 20months/11,000miles ago) I would say if you find out that it's already been done then the car's worth a bit more for the peace of mind that you definitely won't have it to do in future.

Do you think that a car with a full OPC service history and 70-80K miles would have it documented though?

All work done to my 4.8S was on the system at the OPC I purchased it from, just ask.

I used it as a negotiation point when I purchased mine, mine is an 05 turbo that had OPC warranty on it prior to my purchase. Owner didn't know if pipes had been done as the car had changed hands a few times over the years. I spotted that the car had repairs carried out under warranty from memory gearbox gaskets and transfer box seals that can sometimes point to failed water pipes and the subsequent anti freeze soaking the gaskets get.

I had mine checked at first service and turned out that they and been done, but as previously stated you would need to remove engine trim to check properly and not really the sort of thing most owners will be happy have you do on the driveway :-)

Thanks, I think it is worth using as a means of negotiating, lets face it what sort of fool wants a car in this day and age with £500 road tax and 18 mpg!
