Taimar Tailgate water leak
Discussion
Hi Guys
Just doing some testing and the rear lock area seems to leak quite bad round the catch yes I did pour a cup of water in the area more than maybe you would expect but a steady stream going into the tank area
Now the bolts have not been done with Dum Dum but I did seal the pipe area however I just wondered if anyone has come up with a better solution any help appreciated.
Thanks

No I know where the water is going in its the Drain plug that is not right as I have no knowledge of how the taimar is supposed to be there I asked Adrian today and originally this piece is bonded in and then the drain pipe fitted at some point in its life this has been removed and then fitted as Adrian spotted from the picture with a plastic gromit like the ones on the upright bars either end going into the fiberglass of the hatch;
obviously does not work very well
I have spoken to a great friend and he is going to make what I have shown here in brass so it can be bolted in place with a rubber washer seal and some silicone so it never fails again I hope
Cheers Rudy
